The trustees of Leo S. Guthman Fund have elected to sunset the foundation over the next few years. Renewal grants will be funded at a reduced amount and there will be limited opportunity to invite proposals from new organizations.
If you have any questions, contact Guthman Fund staff here.
The Leo S. Guthman Fund accepts proposals by invitation only for all programs. Please contact us to see if we can accept a proposal from your organization.
Besides grants chosen at the Trustees’ discretion, all applicant organizations must be located in Chicago or serve primarily people from Chicago.
There are two grant cycles per year: spring and fall. Spring proposals are due by January 31st. Fall proposals are due by August 31st.
To apply, organizations must submit:
An IRS 501(c)3 determination letter
A current list of the Board of Directors
An organizational budget and a program budget
A narrative which provides a description of the agency and its programs; the need for the program for which the organization is applying for funding; and a description of that program including measurable objectives, a timeline and evaluation plans.
